As we welcome Spring and the vaccine rolls out, many of us find ourselves moving forward, rebuilding, and hopeful for a better year ahead. Yet the fallout from the last year finds more than 42 million Americans - a third of them children - food insecure. Many businesses hard-hit by the pandemic have had no choice but to lay off hard-working employees, leaving them and their families navigating food insecurity, and more importantly, nutritional insecurity for the first time. Those hardest hit are particularly challenged.  But you can help!

Throughout the pandemic, RASA has been preparing free nutritious, scratch-made meals for children and families in need as part of the Real Food for Kids’ Chefs Feeding Families initiative, .and directly to school children and essential workers fighting on the front lines. Together with other restaurant collaborators, Chefs Feeding Families has served over 125,000 nourishing, delicious, plant-forward meals in the greater Washington area.  

The initiative - co-founded by Real Food for Kids and Chef David Guas of Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery -. remains committed to equitable access to nourishing, delicious, plant-forward meals. But we can't do it without you.   Help us provide 5,000 meals to food-insecure children and their families.
